Comments:

A native of Scotland, engraver John Vallance (c. 1770-1823) was active in Philadelphia from 1791 until his death in 1823. His partnerships included Thackara & Vallance (1791-1797) and Tanner, Vallance, Kearney & Co. (1817-1819).
