Description: Image of the Oaksmith House at the corner of Pollock and East Front Streets. This image was taken before the extensive renovations done by Appleton Oaksmith. The house no longer stands. Further description by Reed states, "The Guard-House of District One.--The entrance to this house was, during the war, on the side facing to the right, with the outside steps to the sidewalk; the L, or rear portion, was used as a 'lock-up.'"
