Description

Elizabeth Hendren wrote about the history of the Methodist Church and its establishment in New Bern. Born in 1837, Elizabeth Mayhew Hendren lived to the age of ninety-two, passing away in 1929. A 1920 newspaper clipping notes that she was the second-oldest woman in New Bern to vote at the polls that year.
