Three men stand in front of a house in the 200 block of Broad Street. Herbert E. Valentine describes the house as the quarters for Company I, 23rd Massachusetts, during the Civil War. Valentine states the men are A.D. Trout, a "colored man [that] was raking up about the front," and Tom Swasey.
