Engraved ten-shilling note issued by North Carolina. Printed from engraved copper plate with scrolled border on left edge and bird in a circle on lower left corner. Printed inscription: “North Carolina./ xs Ten Shillings/ Proclamation Money according to Act of / Assembly pass’d ye 9th of March 1754.” Bill is numbered in ink in upper right corner: “0134.” Signed in ink on obverse: “Sam Swann,” “JnSwann”/ “Lewis De Rosset,” [John Starkey] very faded. In ink on reverse: “M C Glin(?)/ to ______” and “OK”. Bill folded in half.
