Circa 1880s, this brochure states the rates and services offered at Vance Academy, a private school in New Bern. The school is now located at the Simpson-Oaksmith House on the corner of Pollock and East Front Street. This photograph is located under the creators "The Vance Academy" or W.R. Skinner. This photograph is currently under the domain of The New Bern Historical Society. (1)

This postcard is not a school located in New Bern, but in Dover, North Carolina. The photograph was taken circa 1909 showing Dover High School with an American flag and two students boxing in the front yard. This photograph was taken by Bayard Wootten. (1)
